両国本町商店街は阿波おどり発祥の中心地域として
演舞場が最初にできた通りです。
毎年8/12〜15の4日間には全長200メートルの商店街に
約170メートルの桟敷が設けられ、
通称「踊り子泣かせの両国本町」とも呼ばれる、世界一長い演舞場となります。
他の桟敷と比べ、見物客と踊り子との距離がグッと近いことから
臨場感あふれる演舞場として人気があります。

The Ryogokuhonmachi Shopping Street is located at the
center of the birthplace of the Awa Dance and the first spectators’
stands were set up along this street.
Every year, for four days between
August 12 and 15, 170m-long spectators’ stands
are set up along both sides of this 200m street.
During this period, this street becomes the longest
dancing stage in the world.
It is so tiring that it is called “the stage that makes dancers cry”.
Ryogokuhonmachi is popular because dancers and
spectators are much closer to each other compared to other
locations and we can enjoy a more lively dynamic performance.
