About the Sakano Memorial Museum

This museum introduces the achievements of Tetsujiro Sakano, who is considered a benefactor of the postal industry. The museum introduces the achievements of Tetsujiro Sakano, who not only revised and enacted postal laws and regulations, but was also active in the electric power and railroad businesses, and devoted himself to the development of his hometown in both the public and private sectors.

The Sakano Memorial Museum was established in July 1953 （ to commemorate the achievements of Tetsujiro Sakano, who is called the "benefactor of the postal industry" for introducing scientific research and analysis methods into postal business operations, creating correspondence maps, and establishing postal classification regulations. On the occasion of the museum's 40th anniversary, it was relocated to its current location ・ and newly constructed. Inside the museum, there is an exhibit that introduces the achievements of Tetsujiro Sakano as well as the history of the postal service business in an easy-to-understand manner using models.
