Ryogoku Honmachi Shopping Street was the first street where the performance hall was built
as the central area where the Awa Odori dance originated.
For four days from August 12 to 15 every year, a 170-meter-long pier is set up in the 200-meter-long shopping street,
commonly called "Ryogoku Honmachi, the dancer's bane.
Compared to the other piers, the dancers are much closer to the spectators, making
the performance hall popular for its realistic atmosphere.

The Ryogokuhonmachi Shopping Street is located at the
center of the birthplace of the Awa Dance and the first spectators.

During this period, this street becomes the longest
dancing stage in the world.
It is so tiring that it is called "the stage that makes dancers cry".
Ryogokuhonmachi is popular because dancers and
spectators are much closer to each other compared to other
locations and we can enjoy a more lively dynamic performance.
